Welcome to another edition of Vortexed- a fusion of actionable insights, content topics and some personal stories. Thank you for being part of the growing community!
These last few weeks were eye-opening. People took to their curated profiles and created long-form posts about how their world changed in 2023!
It was, after all, a life-changing turn of events- going from 2023 to 2024 (I hope you get accustomed to my dry humor :))
Observing the posts gave me a brainwave (at least, that is what I would call it). Most of what people wrote works; it's long-form, perfect storytelling, but sometimes social algorithms give us a run for our words.
So, in this edition, let’s dive into the social content that is prevailing.
Creating impactful social media content is only necessary if you believe it impacts something in your life. It could be your work, social connections, or image - the impact doesn’t always have to relate to material progress in life.
However, good social media posts seem to have the following:
An emotional connect
Share some success stories or help your reader envision what success may look like. On the flip side, you can create relevance by telling your reader you can feel their pain and providing a solution.
A positive tone
Social media happens to be - social. So, a lot of negativity is bound to float around. Engaging in it draws pessimistic people, keeping you in a negative loop. Instead, take a stand or opinion and refrain from shooting people down.
Simple, and catchy
While long-form pays off on some social media platforms, especially LinkedIn and Facebook, the attention spans beg to differ. Keep your writing/video snappy and balanced for time to get maximum leverage.
A call-to-action (CTA)
If you thought asking your readers to share, like, or follow was coming off as needy, you need to look around. Posts without a CTA get low traction because they come off as entertaining. Add that CTA. Do it!
Social Media Marketing Tools
In the world of AI, integrating social media with snazzy tools is a time-saver!
